Hello and welcome to Changelog, your roundup of everything new in Justworks. This week we’ve released enhancements to the Xero in Justworks to make it easier for you to keep track of your payroll expenses.

With the latest improvements, you will have access to a redesigned setting page where you can view each step you need to complete to set up the integration. In addition, you will be able to drill down and map payment categories and type to separate accounts, link departments to tracking categories, and much more.

How to set it up?

If you want to connect your Xero account to Justworks, follow these simple steps:

  1. Log into Justworks and select Invoices from the navigation menu.
  2. Next, select Set up Xero from the Accounting Integrations dropdown menu.
  3. On the Xero Settings page, click Connect to Xero and use your Xero login credentials to connect your account to Justworks.
  4. Once connected, you will be redirected back to Justworks, where you can set up your default mappings by clicking the Get Started button under the Create company-level mappings to your Chart of Accounts section to set up your mappings section.
  5. After that, you can override and link departments to different accounts, map departments to tracking categories you have set up in Xero, or go back to the Invoices page to sync an invoice to Xero.
